Over the past year I've been working with, admiring or purchasing from a lot of local Irish brands. Ones aligned with my own passions & mindset. To be honest I just want to scream & shout about them because they all deserve it!
With admirable ethos, wonderful offerings & hard-working passionate people behind the brands, anyone would be incredibly lucky to receive these gifts!
Beautiful getaways, inspiring books & useful adventure accessories; hopefully this helps you find something meaningful to gift to your loved one :)
ps. the last recommended posting date in Ireland & the UK is Monday 18th December! So get your shopping in over the weekend!
Bleubird
You'll forever see me hiking in Bleubird getup. Northern Ireland born, all recylced. Plus, they've just opened a small shop in Ballyhackamore, Belfast!
'Bleubird is more than just a brand. There is a story and a person at the heart of it. There is passion running through it, like-minded, earth-friendly passion.'
Below is the Polar Fleece which is crazy cosy & such I'm obsessed with the style, plus the Tabor Jacket that I've been wearing to death on hikes. Warm, comfy, great in winter weather.
Ocean Apothecary
West Coast based natural skincare, handcrafted in Ireland, made for sea swimmers, surfers and ocean lovers. I can not recommend their skincare more! My face always takes a beating being outside in Winter, and honestly using this everyday my skin has never felt better! Their main focus is on skin renewal from influences such as salt water - restoring its balance and nurse it back to health. 10/10 from me!
Surf Shack Merch
Based in Castlerock on the North Coast, the guys are absolute legends and have the coolest merch! Check out their website for a range of prints, apparel & accessories..
Mountain Maps
NATURALLY I have to put my own prints in here. I personally think there is no better present than the gift of a handdrawn illustration to jazz up any room :) but I suppose I'm biased!
Gift an Adventure
Sperrinview Glamping
These beautiful glamping pods are based at the foothill of the Sperrin Mountains. You can lie in bed and gaze upon the stars, hop in the hot tub & all in this beauitful, serene location. This is a great night away to gift your loved one!
Pine Tree Hollow Glamping
For a more outdoorsy, rustic night away, Pine Tree have a range of cosy cabins you can stay in the Mournes area. Wood burning stove and farm animals roaming around! I stayed here after I completed my mountain challenge last year and it was so peaceful and rejuvenating.
Hanna's Close
These traditional Irish cottages near the Mournes are so unique. I took myself here for a night over my birthday and I can not recommend more! I spent my stay cosied up infront of the fire reading, plus a nice bath to fully relax. There's a beautiful river walk right on your front door too! Each cottage is completely unique & suited to different needs. This is a dream getaway!
Gift an Experience
Soak Seaweed Baths
This was gifted to me by my brother last year (nailed it!). Based in Newcastle, these seaweed baths are something so different. Full relaxation! I started out with a cup of tea by the fire, hopping in a steam cabinet (which is a mad experience haha), then you pick music you'd like to relax to in the seaweed bath. Plus their treatments take you to a whole other level of relaxation (I had the full body massage). Wonderful gift (thanks bro)!
Beyond the Trees Avondale
This is such a unique experience! If you're looking for something different to gift your loved one, take them to this amazing treetop walk in Wicklow. Be sure to go at sunset so you get to see the incredible views, with the night lights coming on too. This is a really special gift!
Give Back to the Planet
Hometree
Support nature restoration and biodiversity this Christmas! Gift a Native Irish tree, a Hometree calendar or even an experience week down at their site in Clare. Hometree is a charity close to my heart. They do such incredible work & supporting them anyway you can makes such a difference.
Book Recommendations
Daily Stoic, Ryan Holiday - 366 days of Stoic insights and exercises. I read this everyday & gain so much from it! I've gifted this to people multiple times as I love the idea of others gaining as much from it that I do.
Listen to the Land Speak, Manchán Magan - this beautiful book uncovers ancient myths of the Irish land that has shaped our national identity. I'm currently reading this & am fascinated with it!
An Irish Atlantic Rainforest, Eoghan Daltan - a story of a temperate rainforest on the Beara peninsula in West Cork. The man with the vision behind it & the joys & benefits of wild nature. An truly inspiring story!
The Heartbeat of Trees, Peter Wohlleben - a dream read for any natue lover. This book is fascinating, sharing how to see, feel, smell, hear, and even taste the forest. Understanding the forest, how it all connects with each other & how we can connect back with it.
Clarity and Connection, Yung Pueblo - a collection of poetry focused on understanding how past wounds impact our present relationships. All of Yung Pueblo's writing has become so prominent in my day to day wellbeing & self-work. I'll scream & shout about this always!
Happy Holidays!
